The Chico Friends of the Library group is an active and integral partner of the Chico Branch of the Butte County Library. We are an association of persons interested in promoting the services and providing for the needs of the Chico public library.
Our weekly book sale is our main fundraiser. See below for details of the book sale.
The library is always in danger of losing funding due to the financial and political pressures placed upon the Chico City Council and the Butte County Board of Supervisors. For example, the Chico City Council voted to reduce library funding by 25 percent ($25,000) for the 2014-2015 fiscal year. Please let your city and county representatives know how much you love your library. Maybe next year we will have an increase instead of a decrease.
August 1 through September 30 is the eighth annual Annie B's Community Drive. Click on this Annie B's logo, below, to make a donation. Make your donation to Chico Friends of the Butte County Library. August 1st is the start date!

Your time keeps the library open. We need you.
Volunteers generate library contributions. For every 100 hours that volunteers work in the library, the Chico Friends of the Library will donate $25. That adds up when a typical quarter sees over 8,000 volunteer hours worked.
