Join your Chico Friends of the Library (CFOL) or renew your current membership.
Support CFOL fund raising efforts by donating books for the weekly book sales, buying books at the sales and from the “sale” bookcases at the library, volunteering to help with the book sales, buying a Chico bag or tote bag with the Chico Friends of the Library logo, buying a “Love Your Library” jigsaw puzzle.
Apply to be a library volunteer. There are a variety of volunteer positions available that help to keep your library the vibrant place that it is.
Express your appreciation to library staff and volunteers. Hearing “thank you” and “we love this library” really brightens the day and makes all the hard work worthwhile.
Consider making a bequest to the CFOL in your will or trust. Of course donations are also welcome at any time.
Attend Chico City Council meetings and Butte County Board of Supervisors meetings when library funding is on the agenda.
Encourage friends, neighbors, and acquaintances to obtain a library card and use the library. Bring young children to the story times and attend other library events.
FIRST FRIDAY MEMBERS BOOK SALE
Be sure to attend the members-only book sale on Friday, February 5 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm in the library’s meeting room. Members may also bring a friend to shop with smaller crowds than attend our regular Saturday sales held weekly from 9:00 to 11:30 am.
CALENDARS OF EVENTS AVAILABLE
Visit your Chico branch library for calendars of children, youth, teen, and adult activities. Your CFOL supports many of these activities with financial contributions, prizes, volunteer assistance and other resources.
