April Update

BOOK SALES

The CFOL members-only First Friday book sale takes place on Friday, April 1 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm in the library’s meeting room. Don’t miss this opportunity to browse our wide selection of gently used books, magazines, movies,  and other materials.  New items are continually added to the offerings.

And don’t forget the weekly Saturday morning book sales open to the public from 9:00 to 11:30 am in the same location.  There are no better book bargains in town than the items offered for sale by your CFOL at these sales and on the special book sale shelves in the library.

NATIONAL  LIBRARY WEEK

Celebrate National Library Week, April 10 through April 16.  Consider commemorating National Library Week by joining the scores of dedicated library volunteers who assist in the library and book sales.  Show your appreciation by thanking staff and volunteers for making the Chico branch a vibrant and welcoming asset to the entire community.

CFOL BOARD MEETING

This month the CFOL board meeting will be held one week later than usual, on the 4th Tuesday of the month, April 26, to enable members to attend the Book in Common lecture at CSU Chico on April 19.  New board members with fresh perspectives and new ideas are always needed to carry on the essential work of your CFOL board of directors.  Attend a Board meeting and learn more about how CFOL and its board of directors support the Chico branch library.  New members and a new board president are currently being sought.

LOOKING AHEAD

The CFOL Annual Meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 17.  Guest speaker will be Northern California author Catriona McPherson.  Learn more by clicking on the Annual Meeting link.
