June Update

SPECIAL DISCOUNT PRICES JUNE 3 AND 4 AT CFOL BOOK SALE

All items at the weekly book sales on June 3 and 4 will be half-price. A paper bag filled with paperback books will cost only $1.00. Come to the sale and take advantage of these irresistible bargains!

The CFOL members-only First Friday book sale takes place on Friday, June 3 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm in the library’s meeting room. Don’t miss this opportunity to browse our wide selection of gently used books, magazines, movies, and other materials. New items are continually added to the offerings.

And don’t forget the weekly Saturday morning book sales open to the public from 9:00 to 11:30 am in the same location. There are no better book bargains in town than the items offered for sale by your CFOL at these sales and on the special book sale shelves in the library. And please consider helping the dedicated book sale volunteers with this weekly task. Only about 45 minutes is required to set up or take down the materials for the sale. Call Helen Sutton at 530-588-4989 for more information and to volunteer.

SUMMER READING PROGRAMS BEGIN

June 4 marks the beginning of the Chico branch library summer reading programs for children, youth, and adults. Events and prizes for the programs are sponsored by your CFOL. Visit the library for detailed information and to sign up. The theme for the children’s program this year is “Read for the Win,” a timely reference to the 2016 summer Olympics.

CUPCAKE FUNDRAISER NETS $3,556 FOR CHICO LIBRARY PROGRAMS

Century 21 Jeffries Lydon’s Laura Willman recently presented this generous donation, the proceeds from this year’s cupcake fundraiser, to your CFOL at the annual meeting of the CFOL board on May 17. Their support is greatly appreciated.

NEW CFOL OFFICERS ELECTED

At the May 17 annual meeting, Ann Elliot (President) and Marian Milling (Secretary) were elected to lead the CFOL for the 2016-2018 term. Join the Board at it’s monthly meeting on June 21 at 7:00 pm in the Chico library meeting room to learn more about plans for the new term. Your ideas and participation are always welcome.
