FIRST FRIDAY MEMBERS-ONLY BOOK SALE
Join fellow CFOL members as you leisurely browse the many gently used books and other materials at the members-only book sale on Friday, October 7 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm in the Chico branch meeting room. This is a fine opportunity to acquire bargains while avoiding the crowds who attend the regular Saturday morning sales, from 9:00 to 11:30 am each week.

CFOL-SPONSORED TRIVIA TEAM HOPES TO REPEAT AS CHAMPS
“Bibliomaniacs” team members Nancy Leek, Jean Ping, and Phil Midling will defend their title of Trivia Bee champions at the 2016 Trivia Bee on Friday, October 28 at the Sierra Nevada Brewery Big Room. Audience members are invited to play along, with proceeds going to provide learning materials and resources for children’s and adults’ literacy programs. Purchase tickets ($30) at the library or at the door on the night of the event.
QUILT RAFFLE TICKETS AVAILABLE NOW
Thanks to a generous donation by library patron and local quilter Helen Bartolomei, a beautiful, one-of-a-kind quilt will be raffled off on Saturday, November 5 following the weekly Saturday morning book sale. Tickets may be purchased at the Chico branch library and at the weekly Saturday book sales. You need not be present to win, but make sure to put your phone number on your deposited ticket stubs. Single tickets are $1; a donation of $5 nets 6 tickets, while 13 tickets cost just $10. Proceeds are devoted to providing new children’s books. The 72” by 90” quilt is on display in the library.
